This is one of Cary's projects. It has a 350 Chev V8 and a 3 speed with overdrive transmission. I think a complete drive train from a TransAM or Firbird with a 5 speed transmission would be just perfect. Need to get going on this soon because I need the wheels for transportation
As of today, 5/18/99 I've removed the front wheels and brakes. I've also removed the rear fenders and tomorrow I expect to take the bed off and store it in a loft I've made in the hange. Some where else on the page I've got a forklift that actually does work now so I'll lift the bet to the loft with it.
Yesterday I picked up the front drum brakes with shoes. The wheel cylinders look OK so I go new cups and I will hone and rebuild them.
I made a bead blaster so I took the bake plates and drums and gave them a shine. I need to pull off the fron axel and springs and see if I can remove the kingpins. The grand scheme is I've painted the brake bake plates red, I would like to do the spindles and springs in black and the axel in red. The next step is to remove the cab and go after the rear end. Once that is is good shape, do the brakes on it and the master cylinder and then mount the engine and transmission. All of that by the end of June. We'll see how I actually do.
